For many years I’ve told Progressive acquaintances of mine
that for all the decades their mayors and Governors have openly not enforced federal law on immigration and drugs, it would come back to bite them when Conservatives take over office.
Now my prediction is coming true. Conservatives are bucking the EPA on potential disastrous regulations on coal power plants. Here is more from The Hill:
Scott Walker, who is expected to announce a run for president next month, stopped short of saying that Wisconsin would not comply with the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) climate change regulation.
Walker’s letter is one of the sharpest criticisms of the plan yet from a governor, although leaders from more than 30 states have said they oppose the rule.
Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin (R) ordered state agencies in April to ignore the rule and not comply with it, making Oklahoma the only state to clearly declare its intent to disregard the regulation.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), a top opponent of the proposed rule, has actively lobbied state governors to ignore it.
You can read the rest here. These types of actions will continue to grow as the federal government becomes to burdensome for states to enact all their draconian rules and regulations. If you think this is wrong of the state’s so be it. But understand, EPA have no human resources to go into a state and enforce these regulations.
