2016 NFL Injured Reserve already approaching $200 Million in payroll

One of the most frustrating things for an NFL fan is seeing their team decimated by player injuries. All the right players maybe on the team, but in a sport that is physical, injuries can derail any chances of having a winning season.

Even though the team has to move on, NFL owners are still on the hook in paying for the players salary as the rehab and heal. The NFL season maybe only 4 weeks old, but the injuries are adding up and so is the dollars teams must pay these players.

Spotrac.com has an excellent real-time injury tracker. Click here to check it out. Right now owners are on the hook for about $194 Million of injury payroll. 260 players are on injured reserve with 100 plus of them for knee injuries. San Diego Chargers lead with 16 players on injured reserve with the Chicago Bears and New Orleans Saints right in second with each having 14 listed.
