Last year, Ball State let Texas A&M put a whopping on them in football for a cool $1.2 Million. Now the school has announced another payday for the team.
Ball State has added another Power 5 opponent to its future nonconference schedule.
Tennessee announced Tuesday that it will host Ball State on Sept. 3, 2022. The Cardinals will receive a $1.5 million guarantee for traveling to play the Southeastern Conference team.
Although it’s hard to tell by looking at this year’s nonconference schedule, in which Ball State’s best opponent is Indiana, athletic director Mark Sandy is pushing to get more guarantee games like Tennessee in the future.
“We have been very aggressive in trying to get those games set up so that we can get the most dollars available,” Sandy said.
