Valentine’s Day is this coming weekend. Florists across the country will handle a surge of orders to fill for that special someone……or just for the buyer. 

Recent economic data of US florists showed an interesting stat when it comes to flower purchases. Here’s a breakdown:

Annual Sales for US floral products:  $26,600,000,000

Fresh Flowers account for 34% of consumer purchases from florist shops

Valentine’s Day represents 20% of all sales for floral shops. Christmas is number #1 at 30%.

Flowers purchased as gift or for self? Sixty three percent purchase for self.
