America is great at farming. For decades now country after country have visited American farmers
to see how they plant/harvest crops.
What is hardly talked about is how much corn American farmers can produce. Here are newly released 2015 numbers via Hoosier Ag:
Nationally, corn for grain production is estimated at 13.6 billion bushels. The average yield in the United States is estimated at 168.4 bushels per acre. Area harvested for grain is estimated at 80.7 million acres
Now corn production varies due to soybean planting but not really much. In the link provided above, American farmers produced 3.93 billion bushels.
