An unethical practice happens every time you go purchase gasoline for your vehicle:

Your receipt does not show the taxes added into a gallon of gas.

Illinois Policy, economic think tank in Illinois, did a write up(full story here) of what your gasoline receipt should look like when you get gas. In their demonstration they used Chicago. Some taxes may not apply to other areas but this is a good example overall.
