Should Restaurants Ban Cell Phones?

I’ll admit, I love my cell phone. Not because I’m playing some game but I get to follow finance sites and even write my blog from it. Matter of seconds I can transfer money or pay bills. But I also have been correcting myself on when to use it in public. Robert Wenzel over at Economic Policy Journal threw up an article pertaining to how people use their cell phones for everything in Beijing, China. If you click on the full article I found this interesting rule a restaurant over there is trying. I think this would be popular in certain venues here in America.

One restaurant she attended required all patrons to put their cell phones in small paper bags on the table while they ate dinner.  The goal was to get them to talk to each other, rather than play with their phones.
