Since 2005, the amount of millenials living at home has jumped from 13.5% to 22.5%.
According to Zillow.com, that is 12 million young adults between the ages of 24-36.
Slow income growth and rising rents are to blame. Indianapolis, IN is at 16.8% of millenials living at home with their parents.
Other stats that pop out from the report is the amount millenials pay in rent compared to their incomes. Millenials in Los Angeles use almost 50% of their income just for rent. The highest unemployment rate for millenials living with their parents is Birmingham, AL at 16.4%.
