Gender pay gap is usually compared between men and women in the same positions with the same qualifications.

Gender pay gap is a myth. If it is real, you should buy that company, and reduce everyone’s pay to the “woman’s” rate, and instantly get a large ROI on your investment. Since that’s not happening, its a myth.

My wife is perfect example. She’s specialized in animal medicine. Took year off in 2014 and when she went back, got better pay at another facility. Other jobs, no matter what sex, if you take year off you potentially start a lot lower because field changed.
