The Stolen Valor of Army SFC Christopher Speer

I’ve been following a case for several months now and very stunned in how it has played out.

“Should I be” though is the question I ask myself. 9/11 woke me up and turned me in several different directions in asking more detailed questions.

One group who popped up after 9/11 were Americans who are sympathetic to the Islamic Jihadist terrorists and proponents of fatalistic foreign policy. This group uses verbal juedo of intellectualism to mask their support. I picked up on this mostly Anti-American dialect after countless hours of studying Islamic terrorism items such as fatwa’s from Osama Bin Laden and the teachings of Islamic extremist founder Sayyd Qutb.

Here is the case……

The Soldier Who Took an Oath

On July 27, 2002, Christopher Speer and a group of four other soldiers on reconnaissance patrol were injured during a firefight upon attacking and forcibly entering a building in Khost Province, Afghanistan.

The injured Speer(grenade wounds) was evacuated by air to Bagram Air Force Base and then to Ramstein Air Base in Germany, where he died on August 6, 2002.

The Killer

Fiffteen-year-old Toronto-born Omar Khadr, a Canadian citizen with Egyptian and Palestinian ancestry, was captured and subsequently imprisoned in Guantanamo Bay as Speer’s killer.

Khadr later pled guilty to, among other crimes, the murder of Speer by throwing a hand grenade during the firefight.

The Aftermath

One would reason Omar Khadr would be sentenced for the murder of an American soldier and be sent to a military prison to serve out his natural life. Unfortunately we are in different times where fatalism now drives war time policy.

Omar Khadr mysteriously arrived to a Canadian prison on September 29, 2012. Behind the scenes, Omar had become a rock star for the melting pot of anti-war/anti-American foreign policy people which included lawyers, Canada’s prime minister, the Obama Administration and the State Department under then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

The Obama Administration had made a plea deal with Omar, plead guilty and serve 8 more years. The Administration sided with anti-Gitmo groups and the United Nations on the concern of his age and injuries he received during the battlefield detainment. Omar had been transformed from a battlefield killer to an oppressed child. His nickname became “The Gitmo Child”.

Canadian and American officials were estatic in his transfer to a Canadian prison. Don’t believe me? Under court authority, Hillary Clinton has been releasing emails during her time at the State Department. Vice News found some pertaining to the release of Omar Khadr:

Hillary Clinton lauded the work of US State Department legal adviser Harold Koh shortly after he helped secure the release of Omar Khadr from Guantanamo in 2012, according to emails released by the State Department Monday in response to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit filed by VICE News.

“Thank you for all you did to get this resolved,” then–Secretary of State Clinton wrote in an email to Koh, dated September 29, 2012.

“So glad we got this done,” Koh responded the following day. “After spending the last 10 years on GTMO, at least this young man finally has another chance.”

The Killer is Released

In May of 2015, Omar Khadr was released from prison on bail while doing his appeal. His lawyer took him in under conditions of the arrangement. Omar gave an interview after the release and never once renounced his relationship with Al Qaeda. He has now filed a $20 Million lawsuit against Canada over his detainment at Gitmo and has changed his admission of guilt in killing Army SFC Speer to “I don’t remember”.

The Canadian anti-American circuit of media and colleges are open arms for Omar. He appeared on a magazine cover just last month in November.

Army SFC Christopher Speer’s wife and children have been pushed into the shadows while Omar Khadr is celebrated as the victim and hero.

Al Qaeda is very happy about this.
