In 1997 former NBA player Michael Jordan signed a one year deal worth $33,000,000. Fast forward to 2014 and the NBA’s premier player Lebron James signed a two year deal worth $42,000,000.

Using a calculator over at US Inflation Calculator, Michael Jordan’s one year contract had a better value then James because of inflation in the United States. Jordan’s contract in todays market would be an estimated at $48,646,523 (47.4% inflation rate).
